AVP rund workshops to help people transform violent situations into peaceful ones. Workshops include hands on activities and exercises that parallel real life situations where aggressive behaviour might be a response. The exercises help build a sense of community and trust.

Started by twelve friends who met in one another’s homes and shared looms, the KWWS continues the textile tradition in Waterloo Region, and assists others in obtaining knowledge about the craft. They offer classes and workshops, hold a semi-annual Show & Sale and demonstrate weaving and spinning at other events in the region.

The Rainbow Reels Queer Film Festival features internationally acclaimed gay and lesbian works that present images of gay and lesbian lives and issues; emphasizes issues of multicultural diversity and gender; encourages local artists, critics and audiences to participate in the discussion of cultural identities and aesthetics and generally to present the public with an opportunity to see and discuss the thematic, aesthetic and political concerns raised by the work of lesbian and gay filmmakers.
